Travel Buddies
Travel Buddies: An Exploration of Interaction/Service Design, BSc Thesis, IT University of Copenhagen, 2019. For our final bachelor project Celina and I worked with the following research question: What is the phenomenon of individuals finding travel companions through Facebook communities and how can we improve and innovate on this phenomenon? Our final product became Travel Buddies: a digital platform that helps users find others to travel with. The concept explores an alternative to existing Facebook groups where members find others to travel with by manually searching and posting posts on the group. We discussed the potential and limitations of online communities in helping individuals who don’t have anyone to travel with within their own personal network as well as explored the era of trusting strangers through platforms. The project is a practical exploration through qualitative methods, co-design, sketching and prototyping.
