High School, Design for Sustainability, 2013. $TASH is an alternative currency; being in the form of a set of 12 tokens. Each token having a different value in the form of a basic product like bread or water. A sustainable solution to the immense problem of homelessness in south africa, while breaking the vicious cycle of drug and alcohol abuse. The tokens will be available to buy in stores so instead of cash handouts. Beggars, car guards, petrol assistants etc will receive $TASH tokens and the product/s will then be redeemable in participating stores. A user friendly explanatory guide is also available in order for both parties to understand the concept properly. The tokens being sustainably friendly on all aspects. Giving the street a chance to embark on the journey of living.
